Narendra Modi at ICAI event … pm narendra modi speaking on foundation day of institute of chartered accountants of india
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called chartered accountants a “big pillar” of the Indian economy and urged them to bring technological innovations to meet global standards
A day after rolling out Goods and Service Tax (GST) from the historical Central Hall of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asserted that the new taxation system was a “Good and Simple Tax and will mark a new beginning for the Indian economy.”
Addressing a huge gathering at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on occasion of Foundation Day of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, PM Modi urged Chartered Accountants to play a crucial role in the implementation of GST.
“Just like doctors don’t want people to be ill to get more business, chartered accountants too need to safeguard society’s economic health,” the prime minister said.
He also said that Chartered Accountants have a big responsibility to ensure that society’s economic health remains good.
The Prime Minister also appealed CAs to “warn them (blackmoney holders) that they would not be spared.”
Speaking on demonetisation, PM Modi said that government was committed to clean the country – of filth with Swachh India and blackmoney with noteban.
