This year’s round of MPs’ budget speeches came to a fiery end, with independent MP Marlene Hassan Nahon accusing the Leader of the Opposition of attacking her by using other people’s Facebook profiles. The accusation was strongly rejected by Daniel Feetham. The Speaker, Adolfo Canepa, interjected and called for order.
Ms Hassan Nahon said she worried about how sustainable the public debt figures were, but announced her intention to vote for the budget, describing the Opposition’s decision not to as “irresponsible, cynical and completely against the interests of Gibraltarians”. The budget session resumes tomorrow morning at 10, with the Chief Minister’s right of reply.
