On the 30th of November 2011, thousands of protesters struck across the country due to the government’s policy on pensions. These policies, if they go through, may mean that the public sector workers must work longer, pay more and get significantly smaller pensions at the end of their careers.
I followed the protest march in Blackburn town centre- a small town in Lancashire, where 2000 protesters gathered outside the town hall to voice their displeasure at the government.
I have captured as much of the speeches as I could as well as interviews with some of the protesters.
I have tried to leave the views in the interviews and speeches uncut wherever possible so as to hear as accurately as possible the views driving these strikers and not distort them in any way.
Apologies for the excessive camera movement- it was very crowded and I needed to move around a lot to get the best shots possible.
