I know the feelings well. The worries and anxiety before an important interview can be potent and exhausting. These feelings ultimately turn to fear and panic as performance time arrives, ruining my focus, confidence and ability to execute.

When you are uncomfortable with public speaking, you will find a few issues present:
* Performance anxiety –You are completely focused on the end result. You are so concerned about the outcome that you lose touch with the moment. It’s accompanied with a loss of power and with that goes everything else- our confidence, our skill, and our trust. It results in an immediate loss of perspective.
* Cognitive dissonances- The discrepancy between your inner perception and how you actually are perceived from another person’s perspective is called a cognitive dissonance. We’re afraid of being inconsistent with our self-image when we speak. Anytime we sense our behavior contradicts our self-image, we feel the need to make adjustments. When you hear the voices in your head telling you you’re talking too loud, that you seem too uncomfortable or you’re being too assertive- this is a cognitive dissonance at work.
*Poor speaking behaviors- Speech happens without effort, it flows from your unconscious without thought or planning. Thought interferes with your natural ability to speak. When the prefrontal cortex (PFC) aka your thinking mind intercepts what should be handled by the motor system (MS), speaking becomes difficult.

My program addresses each of these issues. It will teach you exactly how to:
* Eliminate performance anxiety and stay in the moment.
* Respond to cognitive dissonances so you have more freedom to communicate and be yourself on stage.
* Learn the proper speaking behaviors that will allow you to speak naturally without the interference of thought and effort.

I coach people in intimate settings and unlike most others I focus on the “inner game” of public speaking. That is, building the trust and confidence to help make you more comfortable with the experience of public speaking. We’ll shift our focus to making you actually feel comfortable versus trying to look comfortable to your audience.
