This video explains that anxiety is a normal part of life given a circumstance like presenting a project at work, public speaking or taking on a new task. This can be a positive type of anxiety as it propels you to be prepared. However, dysfunctional anxiety exists when there are no circumstances, yet your heart races, your hands are clammy and cold, and you have fearful thoughts in your mind. For dysfunctional anxiety, it is best to seek medical help, but managing normal anxiety that most of us experience on a daily basis is possible. Practices like meditation can be life changing.
