Chrometophobia is the definition of the fear of money.
Fear of money: An abnormal and persistent fear of money. Sufferers experience undue anxiety even though they realize their fear is irrational. They worry that they might mismanage money or that money might live up to its reputation as “the root of all evil.” Perhaps they remember well the ill fortune that befell the mythical King Midas. His wish that everything he touched be turned to gold was fulfilled, and even his food was transformed into gold.
The fear of money is termed chrometophobia or chrematophobia, from the Greek “chrimata” (money) and “phobos” (fear). The “chrome” in “chrometophobia” may also be related to the Greek word “chroma” (color) because of the brilliant colors of ancient coins — for example, gold, silver, bronze and copper.
The Fear of Money is called Chrometophobia
The Fear of Money Pt. 1 is designed to get you to explore your inner most thoughts and emotions about money.
This particular presentation I’m going to call simply The Fear of Money and this is something that is on my mind constantly. Not necessarily me being fearful of money even though I have thoughts of it. But just the whole concept of money and people’s approach to it made me realize that it always seems to escape us for what it truly is. It’s something that we work for constantly. It’s something that’s always on our mind.
Money is something that is all around us. It affects us and in some ways it controls us and I’m just on a constant search to always wonder why it always eludes most people and why it always controls their life. I thought about it and I said it just simply comes back to fear of money and especially for people that consider themselves conscious. There always seems to be confusion about money.
It always seems to be a tug of war between money and its proper place in regards to spirituality and in regards to God and in regards to being something that can be considered spiritual that they can feel happy about and working to attain it.
So that’s why I call this the fear of money and I noticed that this fear seems to come from, like I said, people being confused about it and when I say confused, I’m saying that people don’t seem to realize that it’s OK to have money because like anything else in life, money is only as strong as the power you give it.
