Heteronomy and Autonomy (Immanuel Kant, Groundwork, sec. 2-3) – A Course In Ethics

Is a Keynote by Next Week Possible? Find Out How.

In this lecture/discussion video from my Spring 2012 Ethics classes at Marist College, we continue our discussion of Deontological moral theory, finishing Kant’s Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals, by exploring portion of sec. 2 and 3. We focus in particular on the nature of the human person, the difference between price and dignity, the freedom of the rational will, autonomy and heteronomy.
