Do you wish your public speaking skills were stronger? Do you worry about losing your audience’s attention when presenting your research? Scholars tend to emphasize content over delivery, when in fact the manner in which you deliver your presentation is just as important as the material being presented. This workshop was led by a trained actor who discussed some of the basic yet overlooked principles of speaking in front of an audience, why an engaging presentation is so important for communicating your research, and some simple techniques that can help remedy bad public speaking habits. This workshop was interactive and required those who registered to offer a short two minute presentation on a pre-circulated topic.
