I`m so grateful for all the support that teachers at Pinta Sueños (Private nursery) Nelly, Luisa, Laura, Gina, Cristina, Paula, Jary as well as teachers at Colombo Americano (just 3 months) Angela and Karen have given to me and my little son in the process of learning this important language. Focus on listening and speaking skills is the first stage teachers must provide in their English lessons, I mean for these little kids. They need that teachers congratulate them as much as possible and recognize their achievements and success every second. keep saying “good job, well done, nice , congrats, you`re very smart and more” , make them feel confident, look forward to learning more and more, and find out the easy and funny way to start this trip. I just want to motivate you to help your little kids to learn English at once. Alejandro’s had amazing and fabulous teachers and he`s made a lot of headway. The ear is my priority at this moment.
Government knows the need and importance of getting English teachers at Elementary schools but they do nothing about it. if Children got this chance and guarantee, the result would be totally different. We might reach high levels in the ICFES test, but this is Colombia and this is our Government.
Just Private schools, the stand out ones I mean, offer this privilege. In other words, English teacher for English, Spanish teacher for Spanish, Math for.., Social Science for.. and Physical Education for.. They have to domain their specific subjects.
Rectors at Public schools should take advantage of their autonomy and implement it.
Thanks for watching it!
And keep in mind: I`m a mum interested in Education and motivating others to give great steps forward in order to reach the best which is what we deserve.
And before saying bye, please teachers and parents, don`t forget the importance to make them know their strenght, let them see they are able to learn and they do learn at schools, at home or at any Academy. We have to check at home their learning, help them to strengthen lessons, be a support, and be part of the process.
Bye from Buenaventura
All the best!
