Keep in mind that we want humorous and/or romantic table topics that anyone can talk on for one to two minutes. If the overall meeting theme is romantic and red, so much the better.

Ideas for valentines day table topics

  • Cupid game show with questions linked to romantic interests. Get 'contestants' buy in before you put them on the spot as it may not be for everyone.
  • Pull from a hat: worst date ever, best kiss, first kiss, most romantic evening, best valentines day gift I've ever received, best romance movie ever, ...
  • 'Dear Deidre' type advice where members pull a love problem from a hat and then give advice there on.
  • "Oh how romantic..." Collect some random objects, put it in a bag and let members draw one. Then let them explain why and how romantic it is (or the symbolism). It can be any object where the idea is to make the love connection. Objects can be anything, for example: nail, needle, whisk, pillow, teddy bear, pen, antifreeze, toothpaste, apple, dirty sock, etc.
  • Theme songs: mix and match theme songs to romantic escapades. Or why that theme song reminds them of a romantic adventure. Example:MacGyver theme song.
  • 'They lived happily ever after' romantic story scenarios with ad hoc starting positions like:
    • I though we were perfect and then I met her dad...
    • The parachute wouldn't open...
    • Scuba diving on the reef. I was in my own little world...
    • I needed stitches...
    • I was the first human to set foot on Mars...
    • My cat ran away...
    • I thought I was alone...
    • And then the roller coaster got stuck...
  • Talk about these Heart Sweets (and hand it out to the members).
  • Make the link: Mix and match romantic/valentines concepts with the every day.
  • This picture was taken on Valentines day (Give them a picture and let them make the connection).
Its all about having fun and perhaps just linking the obscure and random with the romantic. Take this humorous YouTube video for example.

I hope these ideas will kick-start your brainstorming and I'm sure you'll come up with more fun and exciting valentines day table topic ideas to use in your Toastmasters meeting.
