Wedding Speech JokesBest man? Maid-of-Honor? Father-of-the-Bride? If you occupy an important position in the wedding entourage, chances are you'd be tasked to deliver a speech. If you're wondering how to make your toast entertaining and engaging, then consider tossing in some wedding speech jokes. Wedding speech jokes are standard fares during wedding toasts. Which just makes sense; it's a light, happy occasion, and the last thing the bride, the groom and the guest want is to hear an inaugural address. Short, sweet and witty is the way to go. A wedding speech is recommended to play out as a cross between a Hallmark Card - and stand up comedy act. If you're a born entertainer, then great. You won't have to sweat your pants; just do what comes naturally. But what if you lack the gene of comedic timing? It's nerve-wracking enough to be giving a speech, having to be funny is just added pressure. Don't worry; there are many places where you can find funny, wholesome and easy to deliver wedding speech jokes. The internet is a good place to start. There are free and paid websites who would let you download jokes that you can use. Many are even community-run, so you can be sure it's updated with jokes subscribers have found effective. If you check out your local bookstore, there's also a very good chance that you'll find a book on jokes appropriate for weddings. But if you want to make it personal, why not draw from personal experience? You can relate a funny incident that you experienced with the couple; or if you're married yourself, something that you experienced in your own relationship. And yes, if you're single, feel free to poke fun at yourself to emphasize the point that your friends are quite brave folks to be tying the knot. What wedding speech jokes have been known to work? Anything about marital life is a good idea. (And come on, there are so many jokes you can make about wedded hell... er, bliss, am sure you won't run out!) For example there's a whole umbrella of jokes on how spouses "mutate" over the years. From "Oh dear, you have a cold? Let me tuck you in bed and make you soup!" on a couple's first year, to "Stop sneezing! Do you want me to get sick!" ten years down the road. From "How about Bermuda for a second honeymoon" to "Why on earth would you like to go out?" From making sure one's clean, well-groomed and beautiful to wearing a drowdy dress with no make-up on once the 3rd anniversary comes round the corner. These jokes are good natured fun, but they can also help you segue to your best wishes. If the couple has a great sense of humor, a roast is a good idea. You can pretend to warn the bride, for example, of your roommates' unholy snoring. You can warn the groom to hide the credit card, as the bride is a certified shopaholic. Just remember, keep your roast on the up and up. Clear first with friends and loved ones if your wedding speech jokes are in good taste. |
